Our Story
On the northern bank of the Narmada, beneath the Ahilya Fort, the town of Maheshwar has been weaving since the 18th century.

Rani Ahilyabai Holkar brought weavers to her capital and asked them for a cloth fit for the royal court and its guests. What they wove — light silk-cotton with a reversible pallu and borders drawn from the fort's own stonework — became the Maheshwari saree.
We are a weaving house from Bazar Chowk in Maheshwar. Our family has sold Maheshwari sarees, suits and dress material from the same looms for decades. Zari Buta is how we bring them — and the weaves of Chanderi, Varanasi and Kutch — straight to you.
Why every piece has a Loom ID
A handloom saree takes days to weave and carries the hand of one weaver. We record the loom it was woven on and the weaver who wove it, and we print both on the product page. It is our proof that the piece in your hands came from a loom, not a power mill.
